The LAOWA 10-18mm f4.5-5.6 C-Dreamer L-Mount was specially developed for travel and so Venus Optics has found a compromise between the smallest lens in its class (less than 10cm) and the low weight (under 0.5 kg). The angles of view between 102 ° (18mm) and 130 ° (10mm) offer the photographer enough freedom to create landscape or architecture photos with ease.
The lens has 14 elements in 10 groups with 2 aspherical elements and one element with extra-low dispersion in order to achieve exceptionally high-quality images. Thanks to the short focus limit of only 15 cm, macro shots are possible that look sharp from front to back, and the foreground is extremely emphasized. A rear filter slot accepts 37mm filters.
A magnetic filter holder that is available as an accessory accepts 100mm square filters (other extreme wide-angle lenses require 150mm square filters). The aperture can be switched from a snap-in aperture to a step-less aperture setting with a switch, ideal for photo or video recordings. When taking pictures against the sun or a light source, the 5 aperture blades produce a perfect 10-ray reflex.
Note: Alternative mount version shown for illustration only. This is for an L-mount version.
One of the most extreme wide-angle zoom lenses for cameras with Leica L-mount.
The 102 ° (18mm) to 130 ° (10mm) viewing angle gives photographers the flexibility to easily compose landscape and architectural images.
Primarily designed for travel photography, it has a very compact size being less than 9.1cm long and weighing just 0.49kgs.
The aperture system has been redesigned to offer the best rendering of the sun and stars among UWA optics on the market.
A star effect might be a welcome topic for landscape photographers. The new Laowa 10-18 has been carefully designed and the diaphragm is composed of 5 blades capable of producing a very defined 10-ray star. "At 10mm you can see the rays of the backlight even at the maximum aperture of f / 11.43cm is the comment of Bastian Kratzke of the phillipreeve.net website.
