The Panasonic DMW-BGS5E Battery Grip for LUMIX S5 benefits shooting in the vertical orientation and also accepts one additional DMW-BLK22 rechargeable lithium-ion battery for extended shooting times. In terms of its physical design, the extended shape incorporates a secondary shutter release button as well as additional physical controls to mimic the camera's own layout for intuitive handling.
Note: The Panasonic DMW-BGS5E Battery Grip does not include batteries.

Using two batteries with your Panasonic LUMIX S5 camera will allow you to effectively double the battery life for extended operation by using one battery in the DMW-BGS5 grip and another in the camera. Please note there is no DMW-BLK22 battery included with this grip.
The Panasonic DMW-BGS5E Battery Grip is, like the S5 camera, dust and splash-resistant to work in conjunction with the lenses that were specifically designed to support this feature.
