Aspherical and Extra-Low Dispersion Elements

The optical design uses 15 glass elements in 10 groups, including three aspherical elements, to minimise distortions and spherical aberrations, reducing peripheral blur to produce edge to edge sharpness. Two extra-low dispersion glass elements control chromatic aberrations and colour fringing to ensure high contrast images so you don’t lose detail when shooting in bright conditions.

Anti-Reflective Ultra Multi-Coating

Samyang’s Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) on the lens elements supresses surface reflections and minimises flare and ghosting, particularly when subjects are backlit or under harsh lighting. The Ultra Multi Coating works to enhance the lens’ optical construction and integrated lens hood to produce higher contrast and crisper images.
