The Celestron NexStar 6SE is a 150mm f/10 Schmidt–Cassegrain telescope designed for anyone who wants a powerful yet genuinely portable instrument. Whether you’re setting up in the backyard or heading to a dark-sky site, it offers enough aperture and optical quality to reveal the Moon and planets in striking detail, while still reaching deep-sky favourites such as star clusters, galaxies, and nebulae.

Celestron’s StarBright XLT optical system plays a major role in the 6SE’s performance. Its combination of anti-reflection coatings, highly reflective mirror treatments, and high-grade glass elements maximises light throughput across the optical path. While the optical system runs at f/10, the mount’s accurate GoTo and tracking allow for reliable short-exposure imaging of the Moon and planets.

The familiar NexStar+ hand controller drives the dual servo motors and serves as the telescope’s control centre. With a database of more than 40,000 objects and room for 100 custom targets, it makes navigation intuitive. Multiple alignment options, including the simple SkyAlign routine, mean you can go from setup to observing quickly. The system offers sidereal, lunar, and solar tracking rates; nine slew speeds; and the ability to trigger a camera shutter for Fastar imaging, piggyback wide-field work, or standard prime-focus astrophotography.
