The extremely fast LEICA - SUMMILUX-M 28mm f/1.4 ASPH Silver Anodised Finish wide-angle lens is now for the first time available in a silver anodized finish. Owners of M-System cameras and lenses in silver now have another matching high-performance lens for their systems in one of the most versatile and fast wide-angles of the Leica portfolio. The performance and technical specifications of the lens are identical to those of its serial production counterpart. The edition is limited to just 300 units worldwide.

This lens offers excellent image performance over the entire image field even at full aperture and in the close-up range thanks to a „floating element“. With its exceptional contrast, the lens delivers the same recognized high performance level as the Leica Summilux- M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH., and in some respects actually outperforms it. The vignetting that is typical of every optical system is naturally more defined on a wide angle lens, particularly a high speed one like this, than on standard lenses or those with a long focal length

Distortion is extremely low for a wide angle lens at a maximum of 1.1% , which is rarely noticeable in practice. A total of ten lens elements are used to achieve this exceptional performance. To correct colour defects, seven of these are made of glass types with anomalous partial dispersion, while one has an aspherical surface. To maintain performance in the close-up range, one element towards the rear of the optical system is a “floating element” that moves independently of the rest of the mechanism.

The manual focus design of the lens is aided by a focusing tab for critical control and the fast f/1.4 also lends itself to selective focus control for isolating specific subjects within the frame. Featuring a versatile wide-angle focal length with a sophisticated optical design, the Summilux-M 28mm f/1.4 ASPH. rounds out the full set of fast-aperture primes dedicated to offering the utmost in imaging capabilities.

Key Features

  • This silver anodized version of the lens is available in a limited edition of 300 units.
  • Wide-angle prime is well-suited to everyday shooting as well as landscape, reportage, and architectural applications.
  • Fast f/1.4 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and also offers greater control over shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques.
  • One aspherical element helps to control spherical aberrations and distortions at all aperture and focus positions for improved sharpness, even illumination, and reduced vignetting.
  • Seven anomalous partial dispersion elements and three cemented elements suppress color fringing and chromatic aberrations and contribute to natural color rendering and high contrast imagery.
  • Floating elements system maintains consistent image quality throughout the focusing range.
  • Manual focus design provides a minimum focusing distance of 70cm with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:21.9.
  • MPN - 11911
  • GTIN - TBA
