Part of the Nikon Creative Lighting System and offering Advanced Wireless Lighting, the Nikon SB-5000 AF Speedlight offers an enhanced degree of control and reliability for Nikon FX or DX cameras while maintaining the level of features established by previous Nikon Speedlights.

With a Nikon D5 or D500 DSLR along with a separately-available WR-R10 Wireless Remote Controller and WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter, up to six groups of 18 SB-5000 AF Speedlights (A, B, C, D, E, F) can be controlled from out of view, behind obstacles, or other rooms from up to 3000m away. Seamless integration with Nikon cameras that incorporate a wireless optical TTL system is also permitted. Utilizing the SB-5000AF's Commander Mode, multiple flashes that feature optically-controlled, wireless capability can be set up in 3 groups (A, B, C) and in one of 4 channels. For further flexibility, groups of optically controlled (A, B, C) and radio-controlled (D, E, F) flashes can be mixed; and Unified Flash Control allows settings to be customized using a personal computer with version 2.23 or later of Nikon's Camera Control Pro 2 software installed. An SB-5000 AF Speedlight can also be remotely triggered using a Nikon camera with Commander Mode capability, or by using a separately-available SU-800 Wireless Speedlight Commander.

To help eliminate interruptions by frequent cooling cycles, the SB-5000 AF Speedlight features an integrated Hot-Shoe Mount Flash Cooling System with a heat-shedding design. This enables over 100 bursts at full output without overheating, which significantly decreases the potential for missed images whenever an on-camera flash is needed.

Included with the SB-5000 AF Speedlight are a variety of useful tools and accessories. First, built into the flash is a wide-angle diffusion panel to prevent vignetting when using wide-angle lenses. Also, there is a diffusion dome for softening the output of the flash and fluorescent and incandescent color correction filters for balancing the flash to ambient light.

All of these, along with a stand, are packaged with the SS-5000 Soft Case, designed specifically for the SB-5000 AF and accessories.
