Getting to know the Fujifilm X-T5 Mirrorless Camera
Of particular interest to enthusiast-level photographers, is this new Fujifilm X-T5 mirrorless camera, a model that combines a portable yet rugged build with premium imaging results and a range of easy access dials for a pleasing user experience. There is a whole host of photographers that will find this model appealing, with street, landscape, travel and portrait photographers at the top of the list. For high-quality image results, the X-T5 makes use of a 40.2MP BSI X-Trans CMOS sensor and X-Processor 5, capable of brilliant stills as well as up to 6.2K30p video recording. The image quality is notably consistent throughout the broad ISO range, which is expandable to ISO 25600.
Advanced Image Stabilisation and Subject Tracking AF
The Fujifilm X-T5 includes a brilliant 5-Axis Image Stabilisation system, which encourages users to enjoy versatile handheld shooting, with blur and camera shake notably absent from captured images. This IS system, with up to 7-stops of stabilisation, is also functional during video recording, with a powerful IS boost mode also available during movies, for smooth and detailed videos upon playback. Another feature that allows users to maximise the potential of the X-T5 camera is the advanced AF system, which is notable for its speed, smoothness and accuracy. This AF system is particularly good at tracking moving subjects, with face and eye detection also being much improved, for both human and animal subjects, and is essential for making use of the X-T5's high-speed continuous shooting (15FPS with the mechanical shutter).
A close inspection of the X-T5 body
The Fujifilm X-T5 is lighter and more compact than the X-T4, making it even more suitable to travel and everyday photography. It is rugged and tough, despite its small stature, with dust and moisture resistance, and the ability to function in extreme temperatures, down to -10°c. This camera, as with previous X-T offerings from Fuji, will be popular amongst the more hands-on photographers amongst us, with a range of key settings being adjustable for easy-to-find dials, as opposed to hidden away in a menu. For file management, the X-T5 offers dual UHS-II compatible SD memory card slots, presenting users with the opportunity to install not 1 but 2 high-capacity memory cards to handle their photo and video files; this is excellent when utilising the camera's continuous shooting and high-resolution video functions.
The X-T5 includes a high-resolution EVF, which many users will love to employ for classic still photography. You can frame your images carefully, and keep your eye on your subject as you adjust your exposure on the camera's available dials. For vlogging and framing general shots from tricky angles, users will prefer the tilting and touch-sensitive LCD screen that can also be found on this camera. Further aiding in its video recording abilities, the Fujifilm X-T5 includes a microphone input, so an external microphone can be attached and held in the camera's hot-shoe, in order to capture higher audio quality.
Further Video Functionality
As well as the highest resolution video recording of 6.2K30p, the X-T5 also offers video recording in 4k60p, as well as 1080/240p, which allows users to explore the potential of high-quality slow-motion movies. The HDMI output of this camera allows the camera to further spread its wings in terms of video, with a range of output options available, including 6.2K30p 4:2:2 12-bit Raw video output.
Advanced Functionality
The Fujifilm X-T5 provides a range of special features and functions that users can enjoy to frame a broad range of subjects in any situation. Some of these are a digital teleconverter, digital zoom and a focus meter. A super high-speed 1/180,000 of a second shutter speed is available when using the camera's electronic shutter, allowing even the fastest and most unpredictable subjects to be frozen in action within your frame. A sublime high-resolution mode, known as 160MP Pixel Shift can also be found in this camera, providing an exceptionally large and detailed file, perfect for large-format printing.
