The ergonomic and durable Steiner Wildlife XP 8x44 Binocular - STN2302 features fluoride glass to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations, and anti-reflection fully multicoated optics to transmit high-contrast images with true color fidelity and crisp edge-to-edge sharpness. To add extra protection against dirt and water, Steiner employs their proprietary Nano-Protection lens coatings on the objectives and oculars that beads oil and water off to keep the field of view clear and make cleaning easier.
Each eyepiece has its own dioptric correction to enable all users to obtain crisp and sharp focusing, and the main center focus wheel is capable of moving from the close focus to infinity in one turn allowing for fast transition from near to far subjects. For an even better viewing experience, the Wildlife XP is outfitted with the Distance Control System that allows users to pre-set the focus distance so they can snap the binocular to the eye quickly with minimal focus adjustment.
The binocular also features a lightweight and durable magnesium alloy housing with a contoured NBR-Longlife rubber armoring that is resistant to oil, acid, and saltwater while providing a soft non-slip grip - especially in cold and wet conditions. To further increase its usefulness, the housing is nitrogen-filled to provide fogproof performance in all weather, O-ring sealed to be submersible to 16 feet, and provided with a broad -40 to 176°F operating temperature range.
